About SlowSkin

Slow Skin was born from my own story — one shaped by years of trying to fix my skin from the outside in, and finally learning to approach it with softness, slowness, gentleness and care.

I’ve always been drawn to holistic healing. I grew up with a mum who used Bach Flower Remedies and homeopathy, and that ethos of caring for yourself from the inside out stuck with me. I’ve long believed that the skin reflects what’s going on beneath — that you can’t just fix things on a surface level and expect deep, lasting change.

My own skin journey hasn’t been smooth. I struggled with breakouts well into my twenties, and eventually went on Roaccutane — the only thing that brought the acne under control, but at a cost. It left my skin scarred, dry, and fragile. Then came the first signs of ageing, and I went down the ‘quick-fix’ route — a bit of Botox, a drawer full of actives, always trying the next thing. And while it smoothed my face, something was missing. I’d lost the glow.

That was a turning point. I could see where it might all lead — chasing fixes, never feeling quite enough. So I decided to strip it all back. I slowed down — in my life, and in how I cared for my face. I began treating my skin with intention. Cleansing with presence. Massaging oils in slowly, learning what my skin was asking for each day. And gradually, the glow came back — not just to my face, but to how I felt in myself.

That experience led me to retrain as a holistic facialist and return to what I’ve always loved: touch therapy, mindful care, natural healing. I’ve also been a qualified yoga teacher for over a decade, and that same principle runs through everything I do: connection, breath, and balance.

Now, I offer treatments from my home studio in Forest Gate, overlooking the trees. Each facial is personalised, intuitive, and focused on skin health and nervous system calm.

I use botanical, mostly organic, products — gentle but effective, many small-batch — and I combine sculpting massage, lymphatic drainage, LED light therapy and slow rituals to support the skin in its own rhythm.

This practice is still a work in progress — as am I. I try to live holistically, to choose products and habits that support wellbeing, but I’m also a human (and a mum), and it’s not always perfect. My aim isn’t purity — it’s balance. I believe that beauty and healing come from being real with ourselves, not from following rigid rules. I want to show my daughter that there's another way — one rooted in kindness, trust, and slowing down.

Whether you're experiencing sensitivity, breakouts, ageing, or just feeling a bit out of balance — my aim is to hold space for you: to help you slow down; to care for your skin in a way that feels restorative, not rushed. Because when we soften and reconnect, the skin follows. And that’s where the real glow lives.
